ABOUT
BIOGRAPHY
Hridya Sadanand (b. 1997, Kozhikode, Kerala) is a visual artist and photographer based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Her interest for painting gradually developed into an interest in design and photography, which shaped her artistic path. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Photography Design at the National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar.
Hridya’s work focuses on exploring documentary stories about communities, culture, memories, and women’s identities. Being born and raised in Kerala, she often draws inspiration from her cultural background and personal experiences.
She mainly works with historical photographic techniques, such as cyanotype, gum printing, and van Dyke printing, using these alternative processes to express her ideas. Through her work, she explores how gender and identity are formed and how they interact with physical and cultural spaces.
